Summary Statement
Religious Education (RE) is a central part of life at our school.
As a Church of England school:
- Christianity is at the heart of our curriculum.
- Children learn about the Bible and key Christian beliefs.
- Pupils also study Judaism, Islam, Hinduism, Sikhism and other worldviews such as Humanism.
Through RE, children:
- Ask big questions about life, meaning and purpose
- Learn to respect different beliefs and cultures
- Develop confidence in expressing their own ideas
- Visit places of worship and meet faith leaders
- Explore how faith shapes people’s lives in Britain today
Each year group studies key Christian themes such as Creation, Incarnation, Gospel, Salvation and Kingdom of God, alongside learning about other world religions.
In Key Stage 2, children take part in a special Easter RE Week, where they explore the meaning of Easter in depth.
Our RE curriculum helps children to flourish spiritually, morally, socially and culturally, preparing them to live well in a diverse society.
